TRIZ Apprentice Training Program for Individuals
Part One (Two Days)

Goal

This course is part one in the TRIZ Apprentice Level certification. The main goal of this training program is to help you/your company become more innovative and competitive through the understanding and utilization of proven TRIZ methodology. The program is designed to develop a basic awareness of TRIZ among key management and technical personnel. Upon completion of this two day training program, participants will be able to competently apply some TRIZ techniques toward resolving their technical problems.

Participants who complete both days would become primary candidates for an in-house TRIZ Team. With continued training and experience, participants may achieve TRIZ Expert status.

Day 1 - Introduction to TRIZ

The first day is designed to provide a general understanding of TRIZ fundamentals and philosophy as well as an introduction to an algorithmic approach to solving technical problems. The workshop content will view the key areas of:

  • Ideality - The direction systems naturally progress
  • Evolution of Technical Systems - Systems evolve along predetermined paths
  • Contradictions - The cornerstones of innovation. The most meaningful system advances result from overcoming contradictions.
  • Principles - These 40 Principles have been used in 1000's of innovative solutions.
  • Resources - The raw materials for achieving ideal systems
  • Problem Definition Questionnaire (PDQ) - A form to help organize and define the problem.

This information is suitable for persons involved in management, development, design, manufacturing and marketing. This course may be offered as often as required to meet the needs of your company and changes in staffing..

Day 2 - Introductory Problem Solving

During this workshop, participants will study how to use the 40 Principles and the Contradiction Matrix to solve technical contradictions by solving some sample problems. Participants will also learn how to analyze their own "in-house" problems by filling out a Problem Definition Questionnaire (PDQ).

During a portion of this workshop, participants will spend time working on their own technical problems with the assistance of the instructor as required. The content for the second day of this workshop will include:

  • Evolution of Technical Systems - review and workshop
  • Standards - Standard solution concepts for generic problem types.
  • Algorithm for Solving Inventive Problems (ARIZ) - A modeling procedure for discovering the essence of difficult problems.
  • Developing skills in solving technical problems utilizing the 40 Principles of TRIZ.
  • Generating numerous solution concepts for problems.

Fees

The cost for this 2 day program is $750 per person. This includes lunches, training materials - course material and the book "40 Principles: TRIZ Keys to Technical Innovation."

Deposit

A $250 deposit per person is required to reserve the scheduled training along with a Purchase Order Number. $500 per person is due upon completion of the training.

Location

Classes are held at 100 Barber Ave, Worcester, MA 01606. Classes begin at 8:30 AM.

Onsite training for larger groups

Instructor fee is $2,500 per day plus $100 per person for training materials & book (maximum group of 25 trainees) PLUS all transportation and lodging expenses. A $2,000 nonrefundable deposit plus estimated travel expense are required 30 days prior to training date. Training date is based on customer requirements. Balance of fees is due upon completion of training.
